The Return of a King-

As of 12/27/18-

Well, this is a project that is a long time coming. I had an idea in 1983 of a story song that would span six songs.Last year I finished writing the lyrics for a few songs that were already started and wrote several more songs to finish the story. It ended up spanning 7 songs for a total of about 33 minutes with the final song actually being a combination of two. I keep writing new songs, so this project keeps getting pushed back. I am making an added effort to complete this in this coming year and start putting up the songs as they are finished.

                                                                                                                                      Lewis

The Return of a King- things to know before the song starts

King Dietrich(German- ruler of the people) was married to Queen Rhoslyn(Welsh- lovely rose or rose valley). Their first son, Prince Luther(German- people army) was born in their first year of marriage. Luther grew to become very rebellious and very much admired and followed by the villainous of the country. In their eighteenth year of marriage the queen became pregnant and gave birth to another son, Prince Ladislas (Slavic- glorious rule), and Queen Rhoslyn died in childbirth.

Fearing for the Ladislas’s life from the elder son Luther, King Dietrich had Ladislas taken away for safety and entrusted the knowledge of his location only to one of his loyal wizards, Leofwin, who lived in a small place named Wizard’s Crest.

Several years later, Luther rebelled, killed his father, and overthrew the kingdom and took control of the land. His black arts and now large army ruled over the people with terror, subjugating them into slavery.

70 years passed and the tales of a king to be grew and the hope a king to rule over the land in peace grew.

Our song begins with the journey of a 19-year-old Phillip, a messenger, who has only heard tales of these things, to find the wizard, locate the king-to-be and return him to free the land.
